At Faurecia products were moved by hand. The aim was to automate the time consuming manual transport of the product. The AMRs automated the proces from the welding shop via paint shop to assembly. Employees who used to carry out manual transport, usually covered a distance of eight to ten kilometers a day. Now this proces is fully automated by the AMRs of Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR).
On of the benefits to use the MiR is there is no need to change the infrastructure. Faurecia had chosen to develop their own topmodule for the MiR. These collaborate perfect together. Watch the case study in the video.
